Dia Dos, Central Lima

Welcome to day two of our trip...
The start of our journeys where Jorge dropped us off, in front of the Cathedral in the town center...

La Plaza de Armas (town center of Lima)

Town square looking toward famous balconies, spanish colonial architecture...

Central fountain
Tour bus...choo!!!choo!!!

Cathedral de Armas, popular spanish colonial balconies...
Funeral procession for a priest, big band music and everyone circles around with his coffin...

Cathedral de San Francisco...attack of the pigeons!!
Cathedral towers, gorgeous stacked spanish design...
Danny chillin with the pigeons...
View from the street...
Inside the monestary central courtyard looking in to the gardens...
Second floor walkway, looking down the monks quarters. Built 1500 years ago and able to withstand the earthquakes because of the construction made with leather straps inside the walls to allow them to bend and stretch ...
Original hand painted tile from 1500 years ago...

Dome ceiling in the staircase leading up to the library...
Library, these books are original, really really ridiculously old!!!

Looks like Harry Potters Library...

Don't sneeze or they'll disinegrate...
Church above the catacombes...
Blurry, but only picture I could sneak...this is looking up from the catacombes in to the church...it's basically like a dungeon with thousands of bones...(Danny and I were the only people down there at the time which made it even more creepy!!)

The bones of the dead!!!
Adios until next time!!!
