Day three in the Amazon...enough with the mosquitos already

Day three of the Amazon, Tarzan and Jane are not cut out for much more of this so it's a good thing we are heading back to the city tonight...

Another view of the decks, this place is so captivating...

...rainboots on deck...they were a neccesity in the thickness and mud of the Amazon

...the lily pond preserve...This family saved this breed of lillies from extinction and preserve them here on this little pond...

...fishing net strung on one of the branches...

...they invited us inside...this little girl was so adorable...makes you realize how different the whole world is living at the same time as you...

Danny is drinking the juice they gave us, welcoming us to their home...

..it comes from this plant, kind of like a beet, but tasted like really earthy carrot juice...

...taking a sip as well, this little girl was so fascinated by me...so curious...

...a little 6 month old slept in the hammock...there were 8 children and two mothers and one father in this family, they had two babies just 4 and 6 months old, it was a trip to see how they lived...

...the little girls...they were fascinated with the camera...

...the older kids peering in at the youngest baby, 4 months old...

...view from the house of the pond...

...good thing for rainboots, we had to trek through this sludgy pond to get to and from the house...

...then off to some fishing for Pirahna...Danny caught a wriggley little catfish...
...I caught nothing...the highlight of my trip...

...so off we went to the little village where 400 people live and the group from the east coast is building them churches, schools, and now a medical building...there was a long concrete path leading into their village to help them carry things from the dock...

...future medical building...

...a look across the fields at the village...chicken and hens roam about these little thatch roofed shacks, in the center is a large field to play games...

...there are children everywhere running, swinging and playing on the decks...

...this is one of the two schools...

...connecting bridges between the two schools...

...straight off the vine...if your hungry, eat a banana...

it's always muddy and they all never seem to wear shoes...just pitter patt around...thought this was a neat shot of the entrance to one of the homes, where several people sleep in a large open room...the bycicle underneath the patio has a cart attached so they can ride things in from the dock...

...little barefoot children everywhere...

...Walter, our king of the jungle...standing proudly at the helm of the boat...

...sprinkled lilly plants flow down the Amazon...

...video of our trip down the murky waters...

...chopping at vines and passing through narrow spaces...

...massive trees were just covered in plants and vines...everywhere you looked there was draped vines and exploding nature just taking over everything...

...back in our hut, the noises and sounds we fall asleep to every night...

...This journey ends for us this time with a loud motorcycle caddy ride back to the city...these motor caddys would wind and weave everywhere, felt like we were in Thailand for a second...
...it's off to catch our plane and get back to our friends...only a couple of days left on this journey and so we have just a few more things planned to finish out our trip...
